Dried fruits are a nutritious and delicious food. They can be eaten as snacks or accompanied by various dishes or desserts. In this post, we want to share with you some recipes so you can enjoy this delicious and nutritious food with your family.
Salads recipes:
- Chicken salad with dried fruits
- 1 roast chicken breast
- ¼ cup of raisins
- ¼ cup crushed walnuts
- ½ dehydrated strawberry
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Arugula
- ¼ cup of raisins
- ¼ crushed nuts
- Vinegar and olive oil Salt
Method of preparation:
- Roast the breast and fillet it or if you prefer you can cut it in medium squares.
- In a bowl place the raisins, walnuts, vinegar, honey and olive oil and add salt to taste.
- Place the arugula in a bowl, and place the squares of the chicken and the dried strawberries around.
Just before serving, place the mixture you made with raisins, walnuts and vinegar. Your salad is ready to enjoy. This salad is a very healthy food that brings all the energy necessary to continue with your day. It is a food that can be easily made and can be transported anywhere.
– Thanksgiving Salad
This recipe is a wonderful idea to accompany the delicious Thanksgiving turkey and thus provide a healthy and delicious salad to the dinner with your loved ones.
To prepare it we will need: 1 lettuce, arugula, 7 ounces fresh cheese without salt, ½ cup almonds, ½ cup raisins, ½ cup walnuts, ½ cup dehydrated apple, ½ cup apricot, 2 lemons, 3.5 ounces of mayonnaise, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Place in a glass bowl (the one you will use to serve) the lettuce and arugula already cleaned.
Add raisins, dehydrated apple, apricot cut into squares, almonds and walnuts.
Cut the cheese into small squares and add to the mixture. With this, our salad will be ready; and it is time to prepare the dressing.
In a separate bowl place the mayonnaise, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. We have to mix until it is a homogeneous mixture and we place the dressing aside of the salad. Remember that the dressing should be served right at the time the salad will be eaten to prevent lettuce and ingredients taste bad.
Dried fruits are also an excellent choice for making drinks. In this time of Thanksgiving and Christmas an ideal drink is the fruit punch. This drink is able to provide warmth with an excellent taste in the comfort of our home.
To prepare it we will need: 6 cups of water, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cups dehydrated apricots, 2 cups dehydrated apples, ¼ cup dried cranberries, ¼ cup dried plum, 1 cup of guava juice and sugar.
Its preparation is very simple and fast. To start place in a cooking pot 2 cups of water together with the dehydrated fruit, when it starts to boil add the cup of guava juice; leave in low temperature for 10 minutes. Then, add the remaining 4 cups of water and add sugar to taste. Warm up for 10 more minutes and you’re ready.
This drink can serve hot or cold. It is a great choice to take to school or work; or even for a very cold night to be warm with a nice movie, serve yourself a cup of fruit punch.
As for desserts, we recommend the following recipes:
– Dried fruit cake.
The ingredients we will use are:
- 12.34 ounces of flour
- 3 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 5.29 ounces of butter
- 5 ounces of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup raisins soaked in cognac
- ½ cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts)
- Sliced dried apple
To prepare this delicious cake we begin by beating the butter with the sugar, we add the eggs, the flour and the baking powder. Later, we will add the nuts and the grapes raisins. Preheat the oven to 356 F.
Place butter and flour in the mold you will use. Bake for 25 minutes, every 5 minutes check with a knife if it is ready. (You’ll know it’s ready when the knife comes out clean). Finally, 5 minutes before removing the cake from the oven place the dehydrated apple slices on top and you can sprinkle with cinnamon or icing sugar to decorate.
– Coconut cake
This recipe is ideal for a birthday gathering or for Christmas. We are going to need:
- 4 eggs
- 7.05 ounces of carrot
- ½ cup dehydrated coconut (ground)
- 7.05 ounces of biscuit flour
- 5.29 ounces of sugar
- 10.58 ounces of butter
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup of water
- Shredded coconut for garnish
The first step we must do is turning the oven to 302 F to preheat the oven.
Subsequently, pick the mold that we are going to use and put butter and flour.
The carrots have to be peeled and grated.
In a large bowl place the eggs, the sugar and beat until they become white. Afterwards, add the coconut and continue beating. Then add the grated carrot and beat. While we beat, we place the flour slowly. When the mixture is ready, add the butter. We continue beating, when the mixture is already placed in the mold.
Bake 50 minutes, until color changes. When we see that by changing color, we prick with a toothpick if it comes out clean, it means that our pancake is ready.
When we take it out of the oven, let it cool a bit and remove it from the mold.
Mix the ½ cup of water with the ½ of sugar. We spread it all over the cake and later placed the grated coconut as decoration. Let cool and have a great delicious dessert to enjoy.
– Banana bread
The recipe is for 18 cupcakes. It’ll need:
- 1 cup of flour for pancakes
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup of milk
- 2.11 ounces of butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup of dehydrated banana
- ¼ cup almonds and cranberries
- ¼ cup almonds and cranberries to decorate (ground)
The first thing to do is ground the almonds and blueberries. Incorporate baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon.
In another bowl place the dehydrated ground banana (if you wish you can leave it with the small pieces) add the milk, eggs, butter and vanilla.
Add in the bowl where the milk and bananas are, the first mixture you made of almonds, blueberries, bicarbonate, baking powder and cinnamon.
Butter and put flour in the pan, preheat the oven to 356 F and bake cupcakes for 25 minutes.
Check that they are ready, you can sting the bread with a toothpick or a knife and when it comes out clean it means that they are ready. Sprinkle some cranberries and almonds to decorate. It is a delicious recipe that you can enjoy with the whole family. You can change the pancakes flour through the mixture of oatmeal pancakes to make it healthier.
